28th June 2007, San Jose, CA, USA - Roamware, the global leader in roaming and mobile connectivity, today announced that it has been granted the patent in Singapore and India for 'Method and System for Cellular Network Traffic Redirection.' As its first issued patent, this is a milestone in Roamware's patent practice, marking the company as a leading inventor in the field of global mobile connectivity.
The patent grant recognises Roamware's pioneering work in mobile traffic redirection - the ability for a network operator to redirect subscribers to the most advantageous network whilst roaming abroad - resulting in improved quality of service and reduced costs for the user.
The awarding of the patent in Singapore (Patent Application No. 200500182-1) and India (Patent Application No. 81/DELNP/2005) has been achieved through the dedication of Roamware's team - John Jiang, Avnish Chauhan, Subhabrata Biswas, Bahadur Bhambhani and Alex Rodrigues. Roamware already holds the patent for the 'Method and System for Cellular Network Traffic Redirection' in the United States market (Patent no PCT/US2003/024582 issued in 2006).
The Company continues to lead development of traffic steering solutions since its first implementation in Western Europe in December 2003. Roamware now holds over 110 issued and pending patent applications worldwide, corresponding to 65 independent patent specifications, thus making Roamware a leading innovator in the field of mobile connectivity. The patented Traffic Redirection (TR) solution is today installed in over 130 GSM operator networks in 60 countries, and is compliant with the GSM association's guidelines on (SoR) steering of roaming.
